PULP GIRL OF THE WEEK: RACHEL

THE MESMERIZING RACHEL

Rachel can be described as the unexpected type of beauty due only to the fact that she downplays her stunning features quite often! The first time we met her, as we were applying her makeup, she apologized for her "shyness". We don't think we'll ever forget that because this so called shyness that she mentioned is never apparent when she's in front of the camera. Rachel always seems ultra aware of how she moves her body and what works in a photo relating to her expressions. Honestly, scanning through her photos it was hard to choose only two per shoot!! It's unbelievable how versatile she is as a model, transforming with astounding ease from shoot to shoot. Not to mention... she's probably one of the nicest and most down-to-earth girls we'd ever hope to meet.
first shoot: upper-class prom in stretching field- Oct 2010.
second shoot: 1950's good-girls-gone-bad- Oct 2010.
third: vengeance-seeking vixens in a candy-colored hotel room- Nov 2010.
forth shoot: bourgeois daze at the tennis courts- Dec 2010.
fifth shoot: purely film in the forest- Dec 2010.
sixth shoot: floral print comes to life in the night- Jan 2011.
seventh shoot: foxes in the field- Jan 2011.
eighth mini-shoot: ringing in the new year PULP-style- Jan 2011.
ninth mini-shoot: one with a mystical creature- Jan 2011.
tenth shoot: high-tea on a snowy afternoon- Jan 2011.
eleventh shoot: way far out camper days- Jan 2011.

PULP GIRL OF THE WEEK: MARYKATE

THE CAPTIVATING MARYKATE

MaryKate radiates the same perfect, earthy loveliness as the summer's day we met her atop a Connecticut dam. It was actually our very first shoot that included a storyline, and it was she and her fellow model Garye who made that expressive shoot possible! MaryKate is a total natural in front of the camera, with that indispensable ability to communicate through the lens. We love love love her aptitude for embracing and running with the story of a shoot. She could easily be a gypsy beauty, traversing mystical forests in a caravan of troubadours, or a disillusioned schoolgirl in search of an adventure, taking an enchanted shortcut home. MaryKate's beautiful soul shines in her photos!

PULP GIRL OF THE WEEK: CHIARA

THE GORGEOUS CHIARA

From our very first photo-shoot together to, say, even last week, Chiara has always been such a darling, accommodating model! She's always on the lookout for ways to help out, from allowing us to use her room and her backyard, to calling up friends to model! She's quickly turned into one of our most selfless Pulp Girls. While she can easily strike a model-esque pose, she certainly isn't afraid to give a shoot an injection of fun and naturalness. When we think of Chiara, her loveliness and happiness come to mind, along with her vintage-decor room (complete with an awe-inspiring frame wall)! She has a total 70's girl vibe to her; the kind of smiling lady that makes everything fun, from running through a field at sunset or dancing around a campfire in the middle of the dark woods. Old books, candles, jewelry boxes and faux flowers spill across her rose-tinted room, creating an instant feeling of calm and warmth the moment you step in. Chiara is one of a kind: a kind we are very happy to know!
first shoot: a goth atmosphere hanging out in a graveyard- Oct. 2010
second shoot: giant prep school prom party!- Oct. 2010
third shoot: traveling gypsies draped in florals!- Oct. 2010

fifth shoot: a beautiful haunting in the deep dark woods.- Nov. 2010
